Spencer Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) has announced their new logo and website, showcasing the organization’s brand, purpose and projects. Both the logo and website were created by 154i in Spencer.
SEDC is a local economic development agency for the City of Spencer and surrounding area, with the purpose to foster, encourage, promote, assist or otherwise aid economic development and growth in the City of Spencer. The board consists of President Philip Ramstack (MWI Components), Vice President Jason Warren (Northwest Bank), Secretary/Treasurer Steven Pick (SMU), Director Kevin Robinson (City of Spencer), Kent Nelson (SMU Board of Directors), Jamie Storey (Consumers Lumber Company), and Loren Reit (Spencer City Council). Non-voting member Curt Strouth (Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation) assists with development projects and partnerships, and Adam Severson (City of Spencer) and Alyssa Petersen (Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation) assist as the Assistant Secretary and Assistant Treasurer positions, respectively.
The SEDC logo pulls colors from the partner organizations that support SEDC: The City of Spencer, Spencer Municipal Utilities, and the Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation. The ripple effect in the logo indicates the impact of the organization through partnerships and development efforts to positively impact the community.
The organization’s new website, SpencerEDC.com, uses this cohesive brand to showcase various projects and programs of SEDC to support the community, including information on the Commercial Business Assistance Grant program that assisted 70 businesses in 2025 with flood recovery efforts after the June 2024 natural disaster, or the Spencer Child Care Study with First Children’s Finance currently being led by SEDC in 2025. More information on the organization, news, and videos to showcase growth and development opportunities are also included on the website.
“Spencer Economic Development Corporation has become more active in the last two years, working to push development of the community forward,” said President Ramstack. “Being able to keep Spencer residents in the loop through the website and creating a recognizable brand will assist us in sharing the good things happening in the community going forward.”
SEDC thanks 154i for the work on the brand and website, as well as Chris Baker (F8 Creative) and Eric Johannsen for use of the community photos used on the website.
